May 7th, 2005 - Lacey Community Center

Lcc

"Except for Paris, Lacey is the most romantic city in the world!" - Jesse Sparks

After researching nearly every option in the Seattle area, we finally agreed on the Lacey Community Center to hold the ceremony and the reception.

My original objection to the LCC was that it was too much of a multi-purpose building like the community centers we had seen in Renton and Tukwila. But the center isn't like those. It doesn't have a gym or recreation area. It isn't humongous like the other ones and we basically can rent out the entire building.

It has a really nice little lake behind it with plenty of green space. There are tons of ways to spruce it up and make it more romantic and fun. It should be a great place to get married and like Jesse said, only Paris is more romantic than Lacey.

Where Should We Get Married?

PickeringBarn

Angie and I have been looking for reception sites since the Sunday after we got engaged. I think the shock of how much money this could possibly cost set in when looking at these sites. When you think about paying as much as $2500 just to rent a room for 6 hours, it's an incredible jolt to the system.

But through our looking we know of virtually every meeting place within Western Washington. We have finally decided that we are going to hold Love-A-Palooza 2005 in Olympia mainly because so much of the family is down there. We found a great site in Issaquah that we both loved. The Pickering Barn (pictured above, oh why can't you be in Olympia great barn?!) is a really cool place but it's in Issaquah, and that commute would be really tough on everyone.

Our choices have been narrowed down to the few that exist in Olympia. The Lacey Community Center (where we once went to prom together), Huber's Gasthaus (supposed to be cool, but we haven't seen yet) and a couple of ballrooms downtown. No matter where we hold Love-A-Palooza 2005, even if it isn't a cool barn in Issaquah, we will make it a really fun place for everybody to have a great time and give us many, many fun kitchen appliances!
