Rejected Save the Date Ideas

No doubt some of you are visiting our wedding blog because you just got our save the date cards with your Christmas cards. Thank you for visiting! This is the place that we share all of our experiences with planning and getting married. As the date draws closer we will be updating much more regularly.

Here are two save the date cards that I designed while Angie was interviewing for residency programs in California a couple of weeks ago. This was my only duty during these two weeks and I may have got a little bit more creative than what we really needed...

It's based on the playbill for the Broadway play Mama Mia. Unfortunately it didn't meet approval, mainly because the bride isn't Angie (makes sense) and she didn't want anybody to think that we were really going to have a wedding based on the music of ABBA (I wrote a disclaimer, can't any of you read the fine print?).

This design was rejected by me, mainly because I didn't totally finish it. That and it looked pretty goofy when I printed it out.

Angie eventually kicked me away from the computer and did the announcements herself. It's a simple and elegant design and she did a great job. Of course it says nothing about us having a wedding based on the music of ABBA, which I personally think is a mistake.
